A Talk by Prof. Chirstopher DeSante, Oberlin College
Attitudes toward racialized and re-distributive policies like welfare are often thought of as a function of both principled ideological positions and the underlying racial attitudes a person holds. This research engages this debate through an experimental design which tests whether hard work is rewarded in a color-blind manner.
Christopher DeSante recently graduated with his PhD from the department of Political Science at Duke University focusing on research/statistical methods and American politics (his dissertation examined personal values and partisanship). He is now a faculty member at Oberlin College.
